Constraints faced by dairy farmers for adoption of improved dairy husbandry practices in Valsad district of Gujarat

A field survey was conducted in Valsad district of Southern Gujarat to identify various constraints perceived by dairy animal owners adoption improved husbandry practices. Information collected from randomly selected 240 through personal interview with the help structured schedule. The study revealed that high construction cost (96.25%) and lack own capital (85.83%) were major housing Lack awareness about treatment poor-quality straw improve its nutritive value (75.42%), non-availability green fodder round year (70.42%) knowledge balanced ration (60.83%) feeding Low genetic potential local animals (89.17%), repeat breeding problems (86.67%) low conception rate A.I. (60.42%) Non-remunerative price for milk (90.83%), clean production (88.75%) (83.75%) milking High veterinary medicine (82.50%), deworming milch (63.75%) importance vaccination health care Hence, better extension services along development suitable plan could mitigate faced farmers.
